Sorry folks, it’s been another turbulent couple of weeks trying to update the website. I’d changed the website around a month ago because there were issues which required an update but like most things in life, once you open the lid you have to delve in an solve the problems. Unfortunately my website problems were an Aladdin’s cave of technical errors.
In any event, it reminded me of being in debt and how complicated these issues were.
Debt’s Like Owning A Website
My debt problem was exactly like owning a website. At first, debt is manageable – the monthly repayments are affordable, the credit is welcomed and life was generally good. I couldn’t foresee the problems that were about to hit and I sure as heck couldn’t do anything about it once the worst happened, or so I thought.
Actually, the one thing I could do – although it took me almost a year to accept – was that I could resolve the debt problem to the best of my ability. I couldn’t pay the debt back at that stage, it was impossible, but I could create a checklist to slowly but surely resolve the financial problems I’d created.
My website issues were similar. Everything was manageable, easy to update and I had started to make a lot of good friends on the Yakezie network. Suddenly, I realise there were browser issues (damn you Internet Explorer) and my theme needed changed. If I hadn’t looked I wouldn’t have known about the problem but sometimes taking your head out the sand helps provide a clear route forward.
Once I accepted the website had to be changed I once again created a checklist of the way forward. I’ve now managed to create temporary website template, so we’re half way there! The website, like the debt, will be sorted in time.
Thanks for your patience.
