Blogs I Read This Week

I’m starting a new section on my blog. I’m writing about articles I’ve read this week and sharing them with readers of my own blog. I get a lot of inspiration and guidance from other blogs and personal finance writers so from time to time I want to give back and share their excellent work.

I’m a great believer that we all learn through life and experiences. Other bloggers have different experiences and with an open mind we can all benefit from their knowledge.

Articles I read this week

The articles on other personal finance blogs I read this week were:

Frugal Portland: Overheard at the Office. This is a quirky and honest article about how others perceive us. I read it and thought about how my own attitude had affected others. I almost lost everything before I went bankrupt and I couldn’t see it until it was almost too late. If you get a chance to also read the link about the break up, I would recommend it. Honest, heart-breaking but still positive… it’s why I come back for more!

Untemplater: The risks of starting a business: I commented on this too because starting a business is difficult enough without silly errors causing the business to stutter. The lesson learned here was always get business insurance. It’s worth a read.

Edward Antrobus: Why We Have Separate Finances: I’ve had this discussion with friends before and it seems most people share their money. What do you do. Edward puts forward excellent points in all of his articles and is generally a great person to follow for content and opinions.

The Savvy Scot: 10 Crazy Safety Facts: I really like visiting The Savvy Scot website. The information is well managed and interesting to read. In this post, the author has mixed serious and important safety statistics with some light hearted signs. The mountain lion has to be my favourite!

Prairie Eco Thrifter: Basics of Starting a Freelance Business: Anybody thinking of starting a business should read this. There’s particularly good advice about protecting yourself personally.

There are so many good PF blogs out there and I’m determined to get to read them all. Which personal finance blogs are your favourites?
