OK, so i’ve created my blog / website and i’m going to share information about bankruptcy and being in debt. I’m ready to start. I’m focussed and eager to get underway.
Then, I realise, what’s the point if nobody can read the information. What if nobody finds my information and I’m unable to even help one person. It would be a waste.
The Yakezie Network
I’ve read lots of blogs over the past few years, especially during the period of going bankrupt and when I was in search of useful information. Within the blogs I read I constantly saw the “Yakezie” badge and wondered what that could possibly have to do with debt.
So, I decided to check it out at www.yakezie.com.
What I found was a community which supported each other in writing about finance. While Debt Advice Resource is based in the UK, Yakezie members are spread across the world but have one thing in common, finance. Amazed and inspired by the range of different finance blogs, I knew that joining the Yakezie Network was a step in the right direction.
With my path set, I questioned, “How do I join this community?”
Joining the Yakezie Community
In order to join the Yakezie community you only need to sign up via a short registration form. This allows you to communicate on the forums and talk to other members.
However, becoming a Yakezie network member is a lot harder. You can’t simply walk in a declare that you are a Yakezie network member. Instead, there is a six month challenge which all finance writers must complete.
The challenge ensures each individual is serious about supporting the values of the Yakezie network. This includes supporting and helping other Yakezie members and being part of the community. It also requires focus and commitment to managing your finance website.
Since these are traits that I admire and wish to adhere to, I’m joining the challenge.
The Yakezie Challenge
So, what is the challenge?
Well, the challenge lasts for a minimum of 6 months and each writer must write at least two articles per week on their blog. However, the challenge is not how much you write, but whether you can manage to get your alexa ranking to below 200,000 in the world.
This will be a huge challenge for our fresh, baby-faced website but eager to impress and share, I press on! Wish me luck!
STARTING NUMBERS
From today, 9th August 2012, my Alexa rank is 2,536,641 in the world. The rank in the UK is 47,310.
I’ve included the Alexa ranking on the bottom right of our website to share our progress. I’ve also included the Yakezie network logo as part of the process. Please help me by sharing my articles with your friends and family on facebook and twitter.
If you like my articles please comment. If you don’t like my articles, please comment and tell me why, constructive criticism is always welcome.
Welcome aboard, contact me if you ever need any help!
Hi Justin

Welcome to the challange. I have not doubt that you will find it very rewarding. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if there is anything that your fellow Yakezie bloggers can do to help.
Hi Hank, I’m already loving the challenge and the people are extremely friendly and supportive. I’m looking forward to being part of the Yakezie bloggers.
Welcome and congrats on joining the challenge. Let me know if I can help in any way.
Thanks John, I appreciate your support!
Welcome to the challenge and good luck. Being active in the forums and on other people’s sites is the key to a lower Alexa rating.
I like the format of your site.
Hi JW, thanks a lot for the tips, I’m taking them all on board. 🙂
